Beds For Dogs With Arthritis
Dogs beds are an important part of your dog’s life. If your dog’s sleep as much as mine then I am sure you already know this. Just like us, it’s important that your dog is comfortable when they sleep, especially if they have a condition like arthritis. Arthritis gives your dog pain and stiffness in the joint that they have it in. If you think about the last time you slept wrong and woke up with a stiff neck and then imagine that happening to them every day, I think you’ll agree that finding them a good bed is important.

Finding a good dog bed that can provide your dog with all of the comfort they need, didn’t use to be easy. Dog beds used to be just dog beds, all of the technology that we have in our beds didn’t transfer over to dog beds and so there wasn’t many that could help a dog with arthritis. Thankfully, those days are now gone; now you can find good quality dogs beds in just about any pet store in the country. Now, let’s see which dog beds can provide your dog with the comfort levels they need. We have three options for you that we believe can help an arthritic dog the most. We hope one of these three types of dog beds will be just right for your dog, so, let’s get started.
Three types of dog beds for arthritic dogs
Warming beds
A heated dog bed can do wonders for the pain and stiffness that your dog is feeling, especially in cold weather. Some of these dog beds need to plug in, like heated blankets, however, some can be microwaved. Some also use your dog’s heat and retain it to keep them warm. If you notice that your dog is struggling in the cold, a heated dog bed could be the way to go.
Memory Foam Beds
Memory foam beds are great for older dogs. They find it a lot easier to get comfortable because the foam moulds to their body. The foam is also stiff enough that it can help your dog stand up after it has been lying down for a while. The foam can do wonders for a dog with achy joints.

Stain/liquid resistant beds
As a dog ages, accidents can become more frequent, a liquid resistant dog bed can make it easier for you to clean up. You can find these beds with memory foam in a stain/liquid resistant removable cover so you get the best of both worlds, comfort for your dog and quick clean up for you.
These are a few options of dog beds that we think work best for dogs with arthritis. We haven’t included brands in this article because it isn’t an advert for anyone, it is simply an article to try and help you find a comfortable bed for your dog with arthritis.
